Mind-Body Connecting

Hello, Everyone!

Well, I find optimal wellbeing a 6, I am recovering a complete loss from a fire that occurred in our home, I have new addition to the family, and still looking for a place to live. I think returning to school after the baby has really brought me back on track, and this term being in Creating Wellness and HW410: Stress: Critical Issues in Management and Prevention are the most important, helpful, and a great learning for me in such crisis.

For my physical approach to a better way of living I have joined the YWCA, and work out about three to four times a week, I go swimming each time as well with my children, and take walks to the library. I also am very watchful on my diet, stay away from refined sugars by that I mean no pop, and carbohydrates. I am a nursing mom so I do make sure I eat from all foods on the pyramid but healthy wise.

My spiritual approach is to staying positive in all of the things I have experienced to embrace it, welcome it, and look as if I get to start new and attending church every Sunday, and reading my bible daily or when most needed for answers, my biggest thing is I need to stay strong for my children, they pick up every emotion around them. I find that some breathing exercises are very helpful and walking is also a part of my spiritual health as I get to enjoy all the beautiful flowers growing from spring to summer!

In order to follow and implement a healthy way in my exercise and health is to be consistent in my visits to the gym where I do cardio, and yoga. I walk regularly everyday rain or shine, I think it relieves or avoids stress doing so.

After following the exercise the Crime in the Country I did not find any frustration that’s for sure. This exercise helped separate areas in which we correlate a connection with separating into colors, feelings, and emotions. I really take into this exercise as I am learning I find myself very intrigued and would utilize these on a regular basis.

  1. It is great that you have join the YMCA. That will give you an opportunity to exercise. You can also make it a family thing if you would like. I have found out that if you exercise and eat right, you will feel good about yourself.

  2. Dear Anna,

You really inspire me being so positive after losing your home in such a devastating way! Plus you are in school and have a new baby and kids to worry about. I think your spiritual connection gives you this strength. i have trouble with faith when things are not going well....for instance losing my job. I am not finding a new one quickly and I am scared. If I had faith I would not be afraid, right. How do you have faith that all will be well in your situation? Kudos to you girl !
